What Are 'Unindexed Appearances' In The Webographies?

The way AWMDB works is to have websites in the database with scenes, scene details, performers etc linked to the specific websites and scenes they appear in. This is good for getting in a huge amount of detail but does cause some problems with gaps in a performer webography.

In an attempt to make webographies more complete an 'Unindexed Appearances' section was introduced under the main webography on 7th November 2009. This section contains websites that are not yet in the database that the girl appears on or websites that are in the database but the performer's scene details have not yet been added.

This means that there won't be huge gaps of missing websites in a performer's webography while I get around to adding those websites and/or scenes into the database and should hopefully make AWMDB an even more complete source of information for pornstar webographies.

What are the benefits of this?

Introducing this will mean that webographies are much more complete in terms of what websites a performer appears on. For instance, at the time of writing (7th Nov 2009) Nina Hartley currently has 8 sites listed. Adding the unindexed appearances more than doubles this number bumping it up to 18 websites listed on her profile and it's exactly the same for Annette Schwarz who had 19 sites listed but now has double that with 38. This way, while websites and their scenes are still inline to be added/updated in more depth they will still appear on a performer's webography which means there are fewer gaps until they appear in the database.

What are the negatives of this?

The big negative is in the fact there are no details for these sites and the scenes that the performer appears in while they are unindexed including details such as what type of scene it is (straight, lesbian, gangbang etc.), what the performer does in a scene (anal, creampie, interracial etc.) and what other performers appear in a scene with them. Also the opportunity to link sample galleries to specific scenes for these websites is not possible.

This is however a minor negative in the fact that when these sites/scenes do get added to the indexed part of the webography they will be fully detailed but in the meantime the webography still has a link to the site the chosen performer appears on giving you a more complete webography at the temporary price of less info.

When will the unindexed appearances be moved into the main webography with full details?

There is no time-frame on this due to the amount of time and work it takes to get all of these stars, sites and scenes into the database. The unindexed area is there to make sure that the webography shows as many of the sites as possible that a performer is credited on even if I can't provide the full details yet. Eventually the unindexed ones will be moved into the more detailed area of the webography but I can't put an exact time as there are a lot of factors which affect it.
